Program Approach

The 14th Annual Sustainability Summit & Exposition will highlight economic trends and business opportunities in energy, water, infrastructure, transportation and workforce development. We encompass a broad range of systems and practices that will sustain the Earth's resources for future generations. Our goal is to raise awareness of the historic opportunities propelled by the new economic wave of sustainability systems and practices – for investment, development, education and employment. A special emphasis will be placed on examples of successful programs and initiatives.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This year our focus will feature sustainability initiatives that are reshaping southeastern Wisconsin, the larger region as well as global efforts. Our goal is to inspire a collaborative culture of new and unconventional ideas between business, NGOs, academic institutions and government that facilitates transformation with knowledge that can advance change in unexpected ways.

Hear from outstanding local, national and international speakers from government, business, and NGOs, to investment and insurance. Find out the key opportunities to become involved in the sustainability effort as well as critical risks of inaction.

CONFERENCE FORMAT:

Through an innovative program of collaboration and information, the Sustainability Summit & Exposition seeks to provide motivation and education of professionals, investors and entrepreneurs for opportunities in clean energy, energy reduction, improved efficiency and other sustainable practices. Along with outstanding speakers and invigorating small-group sessions, the 2017 Summit has been re-designed so that the entire event for 2017 is committed to focused programming for business, education and civic leaders, with a special emphasis on successful examples. In addition, we will offer exhibits and demonstrations that provide your organization the opportunity to network and the ability to share your experience and successes.

KEYNOTE ADDRESSES:

This year the Summit will feature a Keynote Address each morning that provides a unifying principal across a broad spectrum of topics as a means to building viable markets for sustainability services. These speakers will set the stage to engage in-depth conversations and interactions amongst participants that align with the conference theme of: Building a Sustainable Future: Making it Work!

BREAKOUT SESSIONS:

In-depth breakout sessions will be provided in both the morning and afternoon on the first day of the conference and will feature dynamic topics and speakers that define, discuss and provide deliverable outcomes. The intent of these sessions is to frame issues, present examples, facilitate brainstorming and discuss next steps to provide viable solutions to these opportunities and challenges.

Each panel will open with a moderator that will frame the content of the conversation and will feature 3 to 4 experts on the highlighted topic. Panelists are each given 5 minutes to present their framework that leads into a moderator driven audience question and answer interaction amongst the participants.

WORKSHOP/INTERACTIVE DEMONSTRATIONS:

The Summit will also feature workshops and interactive demonstrations throughout both days of the conference. This will allow for collaboration and interaction as a means to identify and develop outcomes that will keep the discussions going throughout the year and to keep our organizers and participants engaged in providing sustainability outcomes that were addressed at the conference. It will also provide a forum to demonstrate successful projects.
